Lending A Hand To Restore Wetlands
Davey Resource Group, Inc. (DRG) was subcontracted by Sunram Construction to oversee the native vegetation installation and management of a seven-acre wetland restoration project in Chanhassen, MN.
Sunram Construction completed all site construction and grading, including removing existing infrastructure and building a new stormwater control structure and ponds.
After construction, DRG began preparing the site for native seed installation, which included a combination of herbicide treatments and prescribed burning. In spring 2022, DRG installed native seed and all tree and shrub plantings.
Planting The Seeds Of Success
DRG was responsible for completing a three-year establishment plan to ensure the success of the planting. The company provided updated vegetation establishment plans at the beginning of each growing season through 2025. The deliverables included a seeding action plan and planting schedule, which detailed the method of seeding, surface preparation, and equipment to be used. Further, DRG provided seed product data, including the seed label, planting schedule/substitutions, and the vegetation establishment plan.
