Stabilizing Shorelines At Ramsey County Parks
Ramsey County Parks hired Davey Resource Group, Inc. (DRG) to restore approximately 200 feet of native shoreline at Beaver Lake County Park. Erosion had caused soil stabilization issues and was posing a hazard to park visitors. To address this, DRG installed Bio-D-Blocks along the shoreline to raise the grade and create long-term slope stabilization. Native seeds and live plants were added onto the block and along the shoreline. Additionally, DRG installed two fishing nodes to allow for continued access to the lake without disturbing the natural shoreline. Through this project, DRG utilized soil bioengineering and native vegetation to protect the shoreline and ensure long-term stabilization.
