The Challenge

The Camp Fire of 2018 was the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history. Weston Solutions’ engineering services coordinated cleanup efforts and required ISA certified arborists on the scene to protect the Environmental Protection Agency’s cleaning crews from potential tree failure. While the growing number of wildfires continue to overrun California, the finite number of available qualified arborists presents a challenge for Davey Resource Group, Inc. (DRG), the consultants who were on-site at the time.

The Solution

DRG quickly responded to the shortage and flew in a total of ten arborists from surrounding regions to complete the project in a three-month timeframe. This quick turnaround resulted in operations running on schedule and without a safety incident.

The Results

DRG’s efforts kept the project on schedule, making a tangible difference in the community for returning homeowners affected by the fire.
