NAED maintains COVID-19 compliance during line assessment.
Challenge
North Attleboro Electric Department’s (NAED) line assessment required alternate planning due to COVID-19. The project was initially scheduled to cover a complete, in-person assessment of all NAED’s line miles. In order to continue the project, NAED had to maintain COVID-19 compliance and limit in-person exposure.
Solution
Davey Resource Group, Inc. (DRG) provided a remote sensing solution that addressed the client’s value and cost concerns while maintaining COVID-19 compliance. ResourceKeeper, DRG’s proprietary software, was used to log data for road accessibility, tree density, and mileage. Ten randomly selected verification points were subject to field observation, limiting exposure while ensuring data accuracy.
Result
DRG’s ability to address NAED’s concerns while maintaining safety during the pandemic provided a clear picture of the best trimming approach for their needs. NAED was able to map out zones to efficiently trim their selected cycle length thanks to DRG and ResourceKeeper.
