Eastern U.S. Based Utility
Davey Resource Group has been the go-to partner for environmental policy compliance with over 500 projects in Ohio since 2010.
The Challenge
Launched in the mid-2000s, this Eastern U.S. based utility’s pipeline improvement program is a 25-year, multi-billion dollar initiative to replace old pipe with a corrosion-resistant pipe to ensure safe and reliable service. The replacement projects vary in complexity and location, from 200-foot bridge relocations to 3-mile replacements in both urban road rights-of-way and rural utility easements. A program of this scale is complex, and the utility required a partner who was well-versed in environmental regulations and policy to ensure their compliance throughout the program.
The Solution
For the past eight years, Davey Resource Group (DRG) has worked with this utility on a variety of projects for the pipeline improvement program and assisted the utility with mainline extensions, pipeline exposures, and service line extensions, providing environmental consulting services including:
- Water resource delineations and assessments
- Regulatory permitting assistance
- Stormwater pollution prevention plans and floodplain permitting
- Endangered species habitat assessments and surveys
- Cultural reviews and agency coordination
DRG’s commitment to efficient project timelines ensures that the utility meets anticipated construction schedules, keeping the program on track.
The Results
DRG’s ability to deliver quality services and cost-effective solutions is demonstrated by the number of ongoing contracts with this utility. DRG manages over 140 active concurrent projects, providing environmental review services on more than 500 pipeline projects to date.
