Sibley Memorial Hospital
Davey is on-site weekly at Sibley Memorial Hospital to provide high quality grounds and tree care services.
Sibley Memorial Hospital has been an integral part of the Washington, D.C. community since its founding at the turn of the twentieth century. Already known for its high-quality medical care and nursing education, Sibley Memorial joined the Johns Hopkins Health System in 2010, further expanding its range of services and providing local access to the exceptional care offered by the prestigious medical system.
The 318-bed not-for-profit community hospital prioritizes patient well-being and safety by offering a wide range of medical services performed by highly trained doctors and nurses. This commitment extends beyond hospital rooms and into the outdoor spaces surrounding Sibley Memorial with routine grounds maintenance and tree care.
A Landscaping Lifeline
Davey has been on-site at Sibley Memorial since 2004, performing grounds maintenance and tree care services. A three-person crew is at the hospital weekly to mow and treat turf, weed, edge, prune shrubs and trees, and mulch the landscape. Davey’s crews also perform work as-needed such as porter services and landscape design. The crews are mindful of patients and staff on-site, making sure to keep noise levels down while complying with state regulations by using battery-powered blowers.
During the winter months, crews mobilize quickly in the event of snow and ice. Since the partnership with Sibley began, Davey has plowed and treated approximately 250 inches of snowfall in parking lots, walkways, and even the helipad used for emergency aircrafts.
Long-Lasting Partnerships Built On Communication
Sibley Memorial and Davey’s long-time relationship is built on trust and camaraderie. With continuous communications, each partner feels the other has their back. With Davey’s expertise, Sibley Memorial can continue to focus on its first-rate medical care.
