At Davey’s SEED Campus, the dawn of spring has given way to continued progress.
First, let’s look back at what was a busy winter, particularly within the campus’ main building. The main building will be home to our indoor climbing center, laboratories, classrooms, offices, and an events center, upon our grand opening later in 2025.
This video captures some of the latest exciting progress:
Coming Soon at Davey’s SEED Campus
As you can see, what started as a bold vision for research and training nearly a decade ago, is truly starting to come together! Here’s what we’re looking forward to this spring. View the gallery below for photos.
- Climbing Center: Installation for our 10,700 square-foot climbing center is taking place in early April. The metal climbing structures – which simulate trees – can be modified and rearranged, offering flexibility for future needs and training curriculum changes.
- Canopy Walk: Poles that will support the 50-foot-high walkway amid a grove of oak trees are in place. When completed later this spring, the canopy walk will allow more employees to enjoy the experience of being high up in a tree, with benefits for research and training.
- Bog Boardwalk: Davey Resource Group conducted a controlled burn at the campus’s nine-acre bog in early March. Soon, a boardwalk will be constructed and allow for observation and research. The natural resource is home to at least 26 unique plant species.
- Continued Building Progress: Furniture installation within the main building’s office, classroom, laboratory, and event spaces will occur during the spring months. The new building will double the size of our existing classroom space and feature a connected outdoor courtyard.
