In this article from The Monroe News, JR Davis from Davey's Southeast Detroit office shares his top spring pruning tips for tree disease prevention.
It may still be cold and snowy outside, but now is the best time to prune trees and to start checking for tree diseases, said JR Davis, district manager for the southern Detroit office of Davey Tree Service. Davis warns that one newer tree disease — beech leaf disease — is likely heading to Monroe County.
Davey Tree Service is based in Kent, Ohio, but it has several locations. Davis works from the Monroe location, 805 N. Dixie Highway. He’s been a certified arborist for five years. His job includes removing trees, diagnosing diseases, treating diseases, eradicating pests, landscaping and planting tree. These days, though, Davis and the other arborists are kept busy pruning trees.
