With two months left in hurricane season and winter approaching, Sugar Land residents must safeguard their property and vehicles from extreme winds and broken trees.
“Regularly have a certified arborist come out and review your property,” said arborist Matt Petty from Davey Tree. “Trees that have been impacted from the winter storm may have overall structural instability and a greater likelihood of failure. You start to notice defects, the zombie trees.”
"Zombie trees are dead and don't know it," said Petty.
Weakened trees have brittle branches and are more susceptible to tree diseases and cankers.
