DRG and greehill partner to deliver digital tree inventory to US cities

Kent, Ohio – Davey Resource Group, Inc., (DRG) a subsidiary of The Davey Tree Expert Company, announces partnership with Singapore-based business intelligence company greehill, which is setting the pace for urban tree monitoring by applying artificial intelligence to a traditionally labor-intensive industry. DRG has a long history of bringing innovative solutions to market, and this is another great example of how DRG will advance urban forestry and tree care across the globe. 

Since 2017, greehill has developed 3D digital twins and automated analyses of urban trees through a combination of high-resolution cameras, mobile laser scanning (MLS), terrestrial laser scanning (TLS), satellite imagery and proprietary machine learning algorithms. The solution reduces the time and costs associated with a city-wide tree inventory, making accurate insights accessible to cities of all sizes. The company's aim is to help cities become healthier, safer and more resilient by providing rich and objective information to support urban forest monitoring and decision making.

With DRG’s industry expertise and greehill’s solution, DRG and greehill can assess exponentially more trees per day, help cities better calculate the social, environmental and economic benefits provided by existing trees and execute effective tree removal, pruning and planting initiatives to meet each city's agenda. 

With most of greehill’s work being completed in Europe and Asia, greehill is now expanding its activities through North America. The strategic partnership with DRG will help integrate this leading solution into the North American market starting in June 2023.
